128 People Dead, 100s More Injured As BSI Factory Catches Fire

One hundred and twenty-eight people including employees, tourists to the factory, business associates have been confirmed dead, and hundreds more injured at the BSI factory after the whole factory was set ablaze on Tuesday morning.

Ambulances and personnel from the Belize Fire Department were at the scene conveying bodies to hospitals and fighting the fire respectively.

Several officials in government have arrived at the scene.

“We would conduct an investigation to ascertain the cause of the fire outbreak. The cause is not immediately known.” The Fire Chief at the National Fire Service told the media present.

William Neal, the Communications and Government Affairs representative for ASR/BSI is said to be part of the perished bodies.

The employees are covered by insurance.
